Ribbon Fusion Splicer Kit
AFL Global - Fujikura - FSM-70R
The FSM-70R is a completely ruggedized fusion splicer for ribbon optical fibers. It features a fixed v-groove technology for splicing either single fibers or ribbon fibers, up to 12 fibers. The new clamshell design tube heater applies heat to both sides of the splice protection sleeve, reducing the total splice process time and improving productivity.

- 40-second, automated clamshell design tube heater for quick splicing process
- An automated and programmable wind protector closes and starts splicing, delivering increased efficiency
- Severe impact-resistant monitor and mirror-less optical system enhance durability
- Battery capacity: Li-ion battery with 110 splices/shrinks per charge
- Splicing time: 15 seconds with standard single-mode fiber (typical)
- Typical average splice loss: 0.05 dB with SM, 0.02 dB with MM, 0.08 dB with NZDS, 0.08 dB with DS
- Splice loss estimate: Depending on dual camera cladding alignment data
- Includes a multi-function transit case that has an integrated workstation and internet software upgrades
- Items included in the kit: ADC-18 AC adapter, CT30 cleaver, RS02 stripper, sleeve loader, USB cable, alcohol dispenser, ACC-14 AC cord, ELCT2-20A spare electrodes (pair), FH-50-12 fiber holder, training and support videos and instruction manuals, reference guides, screwdriver, splicer carrying strap, and CC30 transit case with carrying strap.
